Storm & Hail Damage
A roof inspection built around what adjusters actually look for after hail or wind, with photo documentation you can hand straight to your insurance company.
Get Your Free InspectionA storm rolled through, the neighbors are getting roofs replaced, and there’s no way to tell from the ground whether hail actually bruised the shingles or wind lifted a section that’s now letting water in behind the flashing.
What we actually do
- 1
Full-slope inspection walking every plane of the roof, not just the side visible from the street.
- 2
Hail hits checked for bruising and mat exposure, not just cosmetic granule loss.
- 3
Wind damage checked at ridges, rakes, and any shingle with a broken or lifted seal.
- 4
Soft metals — vents, flashing, gutters, downspouts — checked for hail dents, since adjusters weigh those as evidence of storm intensity.
- 5
Photo documentation of every finding, organized by roof plane, ready to submit with a claim.
- 6
A walkthrough of the report with you before anything is filed, so you know what’s damage and what’s wear.
How to tell if this is your problem
Hail dents on gutters, downspouts, or an AC unit’s fins
Granules collecting at downspout outlets after a storm
Shingles that look fine from the ground but feel bruised or soft when pressed
Missing or torn shingles after a high-wind event
A ceiling stain that appeared right after a storm, not before

A real photo from a Prime Roofing job — not a stock roof.
Storm & Hail Damage FAQ
How soon after a storm should the roof get inspected?
As soon as it’s safe to get someone up there. Hail bruising can look minor at first and get worse with UV exposure and freeze-thaw cycles, so an early inspection gives the clearest read on what actually happened during the storm.
Will the inspection cost anything if there’s no damage?
The roof gets inspected before anything is billed or filed. If there’s no storm damage, you’ll hear that directly, with the reasoning behind it.
Do I need to call my insurance company before or after the inspection?
After. Filing a claim starts a clock and shows up on the property’s claim history, so it’s worth knowing what’s actually on the roof first. Hail and wind damage is usually covered under a standard homeowner’s policy — the inspection tells you whether that applies here.
