PRIMEROOFING

Two warranties, two different things

One covers the materials. One covers how we installed them. They're not the same document, and knowing the difference matters if you ever need to use either one.

From the manufacturer

Material warranty

Covers defects in the shingles or metal panels themselves — the material failing to do what the manufacturer says it should. It does not cover how the roof was installed; that's a separate warranty, below.

It has to be registered in your name.

Manufacturer coverage is only valid once it's registered to the homeowner after installation. An unregistered roof has no material warranty at all, regardless of what was installed. We handle the registration paperwork on our end, but it's filed in your name — keep the confirmation.

From Prime Roofing

Workmanship warranty

Covers our installation — flashing, fastening, sealing, and every detail that depends on how the crew set the roof rather than on the material itself. If a leak traces back to how we installed your roof, we come back and fix it at no charge.

The term is set in your project contract, not here.

We're not going to print a number of years on a marketing page — the exact term of your workmanship warranty is written into the contract you sign for your job, so there's one place to check it and it can't drift from what we actually agreed to.

What neither warranty covers

  • Damage caused after the fact by someone else — another contractor, a satellite or antenna installer, a solar crew, or anyone else who walks on or works on the roof after we're done.
  • Anything installed on top of our roof by a different company — solar panels, HVAC equipment, satellite dishes, or fixtures added later penetrate the roof and void coverage in that area unless we did the install ourselves.
  • Extreme weather events — hail, tornadoes, straight-line winds and similar events are what your homeowner's insurance exists for, not a workmanship or material warranty. We'll help you document the damage for your adjuster either way.
